Founder/Executive Director
Pamela Smith
Pamela Smith serves as the Founder and Executive Director of Pam’s Kitchen Serving the Community Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2021. Her community service work began in 2014 in Austin, Texas, under the organization’s original name, Urban Love Building the Community. Her early initiatives included homeless outreach, holiday assistance for families, school supply distribution, and scholarship awards.
Since becoming a nonprofit, Pamela has expanded the organization’s services to include food distribution for low‑income families, senior citizens, and individuals with disabilities, as well as annual holiday support for nursing home residents.
Pamela is a licensed cosmetologist, holds an Associate of Applied Management degree, and is a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist. She is committed to advancing community well‑being through compassionate service, resource access, and collaborative support.
Vice President
Karriem Williams
Karriem Williams is a dedicated community supporter with a diverse background in music, hospitality, and team leadership. A graduate of Covington High School in Austin, Texas, Karriem began his journey as the drummer for the Soultree Collective and is skilled in playing the trumpet along with several other instruments.
Professionally, Karriem has worked as a bartender and previously served as a Lead Internet Teams Manager, where he developed strong communication and customer‑service skills. His passion for people extends beyond work — he is committed to serving the community, especially senior citizens, and enjoys contributing to programs that bring comfort, connection, and support to those in need.
Karriem brings creativity, compassion, and a strong work ethic to Pam’s Kitchen Serving the Community Inc., helping strengthen the mission through service and outreach.
Secretary
Darleen Thomas
Darleen Thomas is a dedicated community leader with a lifelong passion for service. After graduating from high school, she attended Texas A&I University and soon became one of the founding supporters of Urban Love Building the Community, working alongside Pamela to build the foundation of what is now Pam’s Kitchen Serving the Community Inc.
Darleen serves the State of Texas as a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and also works as a CNA, providing compassionate care to elderly individuals in her spare time. Her commitment to helping others extends into her ministry as well. She is the First Lady of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, where her husband serves as Pastor, and she leads the church choir with grace, dedication, and a heart for worship.
Known for her warm spirit and genuine love for people, Darleen believes there is no such thing as a stranger. Her kindness, leadership, and unwavering commitment to service make her an invaluable part of the Pam’s Kitchen mission.
